Visit Sidney this Family Day Weekend, Saturday Feb. 18th – Monday Feb. 20th, for a LEGO adventure!
Our Sidney Museum will be running a number of LEGO-themed activities that will be fun for families and kids of all ages. Visit the Museum and check out the display of over 200 LEGO sets and pick up your Sidney-wide scavenger hunt.
Businesses and organizations from all over town (including Buddies of course!) will have LEGO sets from the collection on display in their windows and storefronts – find them all and be entered in a draw to win a LEGO prize!
You can also take part in a LEGO mosaic that they are building at the Museum. Contribute your piece to a work of art that will be displayed at a Peninsula Co-op location.
The Museum is hosting one of Canada’s only LEGO Certified Professionals, Robin Sather. Robin will be at the Museum over the weekend building a 6 ft. LEGO model of the Sidney – Anacortes ferry “Harvester King’ in the Museum multipurpose room. Drop in, say hello, and watch him work!
Once you’ve taken in the sights at the Museum, stroll on down to the Pier Hotel, where The Victoria LEGO Users Group (VicLUG) will be set up building a number of dioramas. This is another great opportunity to watch LEGO experts at work!
Admission to the Museum is by donation. No pre-booking is required to take part in the Family Day fun – feel free to stop by any time during our opening hours (10:00am – 4:00pm, seven days a week) and explore!
